Prominent Toronto architect Edmund Burke designed this house in the shingle style of architecture. Built in 1903, it has been owned by three prominent citizens of Sackville:Dr. Charles Paisley, who was a professor and Dean at Mount Allison University, had the house built in 1903.

Dr. Norman A. Hesler was a leading local business leader, and four-time Mayor of Sackville.

Hon. Marilyn Trenholme Counsell MD as a family physician practiced medicine at this site, became a member of the New Brunswick Legislature, then New Brunswick’s 28th Lieutenant-Governor before being appointed to the Canadian Senate in 2003.

This building is within the Town of Sackville Municipal Heritage Conservation Area A.
