William Fawcett House
129 Pond Shore Road, Upper Sackville, N.B.
WILLIAM FAWCETT HOUSE
c.1800
This two-story cottage is a good example of a Maritime vernacular house in the Neo-classical style of architecture, brought from the New England States.Yorkshire settlers William and Ann Matson Fawcett emigrated to Upper Sackville in 1774. Their son, William Fawcett II built this house on land given to him by his father.

In 1832, William Fawcett II was murdered in this house by a shot fired through the kitchen window. (For more details see Methodist Burying Ground). The house was inherited by his adopted son James George, and descendants of the George family still own the house today.
