GEORGE E. FORD HOUSE
C.1900
This house was built by local merchant George E. Ford best known as the builder and proprietor of the nearby Ford Block department store on Main Street. The exact date of construction is not known: it may have been in the late 1890s or c.1900. With its steeply pitched roof, assymetrical facade and use of patterned shingles on the front gable wall the house displays a number of the features of the Queen Anne Revivial style. The enclosed stairway giving access to the upper level is a later addition. Since the 1920s it has had a succession of owners and has housed a variety of businesses.
This building is within the Town of Sackville Municipal Heritage Conservation Area A.
